the article: Stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination.
Stereotyping,
prejudice and discrimination always were on the top of discussion topics of the
public. Social psychologists were seeking how and why stereotyping and
prejudice is appears in the minds of people and how they change minds of public.
Mostly in
the people’s minds prejudice and evidence are contesting even evidence is
clear. What is the prejudice was clearly stated by Allport, prejudice is consensus
based on inflexibility of public or even one person, because he is also member
of some group. Prejudice is directed toward of social roles of people, there
are some examples in this book about a women which are have social roles recommended
only for men. And discrimination is stated as typical people but treated
differently. Article gives us examples about black men, which is called racism,
and one of the main types of discrimination. Prejudice, discrimination and
stereotyping becoming more typical for public, that’s why it is simple
accepted. These phenomena has deep effect on behavior of public, mostly in judgment.
And for the last there is Stigma. Stigma has some physical and psychological
effect on group of people. Research shows that group of people who are know
that they are being discriminated, have poorer mental and psychic abilities.
The most insulting stuff in our days is people are don’t care for such
phenomena.
